TOUR ITINERARY

DAY 1: GUWAHATI TO SHILLONG (110 KM approx.):

Arrive at Guwahati airport and travel to Shillong. On the way, visit the beautiful Umiam Lake (a reservoir in the hills). After checking into the hotel, ride to the Liatlum canyon, meaning “the End of Hills,” situated at the edge of a cliff. Enjoy the picturesque view and get lost in your own thoughts. After returning, explore handicrafts and also devour some ethnic food at the famous Shillong market in Police Bazar. Later in the evening, relax and enjoy your tea or coffee at the famous Dylan’s Cafe, and then head to the hotel for a perfect night’s sleep.

DAY 2: SHILLONG TO DAWKI (130 KM approx.):

Morning travel to visit the magical Phe Phe waterfalls. Next, visit Krangshuri Waterfall, which will definitely take your breath away. After that, travel to Dawki and go boating. On the way, visit the Indo-Bangla border. Overnight stay in Dawki.

DAY 3: DAWKI TO CHERRAPUNJI (120 KM approx.): 

Get ready to travel to Cherrapunji, known for its living root bridges, and also holds the honor of being the “wettest” place on earth.  Before that, visit the Mawlynnong village, which is known as the cleanest village in Asia.  On the way to Cherrapunji, visit the two-tier waterfall known as Elephant Falls and Mawkdok Dympep Valley. In Cherrapunji, visit the Dainthen waterfalls and enjoy the eye-soothing Wei Sawdong, also known as the three-level waterfalls or terrace waterfall. Visit Nohkalikai waterfall (the tallest plunge waterfall in India), Arwah Cave and Mawsmai Cave, a beautiful limestone cave.  Overnight Stay in Cherrapunji.

DAY 4: DOUBLE DECKER LIVING ROOT BRIDGE TREKKING: 

Put on your trekking shoes for the day!!  Transport to Tyrna village, and thereafter, it is a trek from Tyrna to the double-decker root bridge at Nongriat. It is  “stairway to heaven”. After a long day of trekking, enjoy and relax. overnight stay in Cherrapunji.

DAY 5: CHERRAPUNJI TO NONGSTOIN (140 KM approx.):

The morning after breakfast, travel to Nongstoin. Before starting, you may visit some of the places if you missed visiting on Day 3. Overnight stay in Nongstoin.

DAY 6: NONGSTOIN TO EMANGRE VILLAGE

In the morning, start your journey from Nongstoin to Emangre village. Before that visit, see the Weinia waterfall. It will be a long journey of 5 hours covering a distance of around 180 km to Emangre village. After reaching Wari Chora, check in to the homestay or campsite. Accommodation in Emangre is basic, but you will get the raw touch of village life. Overnight stay in Emangre village.

DAY 7: TREK TO WARI CHORA

Early morning start towards Wari Chora. One camper vehicle will take you to the nearest location, from where there will be a trek of around 1 hour to reach the stream side. Once you reach there, enjoy the unforgettable beauty of Wari Chora. After spending a good time traveling back to the homestay and taking a rest.

DAY 8: VISIT TO SIJU CAVES AND FISH SANCTUARY

Today after breakfast, go to visit Siju caves. Explore the cave and then travel to Fish Sanctuary. Jadisil Fish Sanctuary is the result of the Meghalaya state government’s effort to revive the declining population of the local fish species. After spending a good time in the sanctuary, travel back to Guwahati/Shillong. The tour ends here.
